Little Makes Big
Founded in Melbourne, Australia, Little Makes Big (L.M.B) was born when Rebecca Starkins was just 16 years old. The idea originated from the belief that every little thought, act of kindness, coin, smile, person, or prayer could make a big difference.
Officially registered in 2009, Little Makes Big originally supplied personalized smocks, library bags, and book bags to young school children. The business grew with Rebecca's passion for all things elegant and practical.
In 2013, the quintessential monogrammed tote bag was launched, a timeless, international must-have worn by Vogue editors, and celebrities later including Pippa and Kate Middleton.
In 2014, Little Makes Big started monogramming and distributing tote bags in London and New York City while handling monogramming and engraving for all other personalized products in Melbourne, Australia.
In 2015, Rebecca designed a philanthropic collection named "A Piece in Time." The collection included one-off pieces such as cushions, makeup bags, and quilts made from exquisite designer fabrics. The range comprised fabric by incredible textile designers curated from all over the world, from Ralph Lauren stripes to Sanderson linen, and sourced from places as far-reaching as France to a tiny market in Spain. All products in "A Piece in Time" were exclusive and handmade by the Destiny Rescue Sewing Production House in Thailand (DRSPH). Destiny Rescue's mission is to end child trafficking and sexual exploitation. Rebecca visited the Production House many times to teach girls and women key foundational skills in sewing and specific techniques for producing this collection.
In 2016, the perfect companion to the tote, a classic clutch, was launched. Matching the tote, the clutch was navy, black, and white canvas with tan leather, elegant contrast stitching, and a contrast pink canvas lining to identify any item in the clutch with ease. Rebecca was also featured in international publications after Pippa Middleton was spotted wearing the tote bag, first in the Daily Mail.
In 2017, the Little Bow Box was introduced, a versatile acrylic keepsake box filled with beautiful handmade bows.
Most notably, in 2018, Kate Middleton was spotted wearing the monogrammed tote bag. This was followed by significant exposure and showcased in Harper's Bazaar, Glamour, Town and Country, The Huffington Post, Home Beautiful, Marie Claire, Hello, OK Magazine, New Idea, and the Daily Mail.

A Piece in Time
The Destiny Rescue Production House (DRSPH) employs Prevention and Rescue girls, (the youngest employee was 18) giving those who have been, or were destined to be exploited and enslaved, a viable and sustainable job. At the time, they produced a special collection for Little Makes Big. This employment enabled them to remain self-sufficient after a rehabilitation program, which involved providing a safe, loving home, medical care, education, and finally, reintegration. Some go to school; others who need an income for their family work in a safe job like the Production House. With fair wages, hours, and working environment, this is a significant part of the process to create a future for those who can’t speak up for themselves.
